BIRATNAGAR: Hikmat Kumar Karki, the Chief Minister of Koshi State, has called on all parties to run the government collectively.

He invited all political parties represented in the State Assembly to join the government in order to build the state.

Chief Minister Karki stated in a program to publicize the Koshi State government’s 100-day achievements that, while Western countries have stated that opposition is mandatory, any party can work on the development of the state by staying inside the government rather than outside the government.

“Now let’s work together to dispel the growing misconceptions about the state,” he said. “I would also like to request through this that all parties represented in the State Assembly be included in the government and begin developing the State.”

CPN-UML, Maoist Centre, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) are all members of the government led by Karki.

The Chief Minister claims that the Nepali Congress and the CPN Unified Socialists, both of which are not in government, will likewise bring the State into government and develop it.

He also stated that ministers for the remaining two ministries, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, would be named soon. According to Chief Minister Karki, no ministers have been chosen in such ministries to bring other parties together.

Chief Minister Karki has declared the downsizing of 13 ministries to 9 as the state government’s first achievement in its first 100 days in office. He stated that by organizing a high-level administration reform task force, the task force is working to maintain frugality in Koshi State’s administrative expenses and to make service delivery development management more effective.

He said that after he became the Chief Minister, he formulated the status paper 2070 regarding service delivery and development management of the State government and worked on that basis.

In 100 days of the government, the concept was approved in principle by the Council of Ministers of the State Government.
