KATHMANDU: The driver of Rabi Lamichhane, President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who fell from the roof of a house in Chitwan’s Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11, is being treated.

He is being treated at the Purano Medical College.

Dil Bahadur Thapa, 39, of Sindhupalchowk Bahrbise Municipality-3, is in the operation theater, according to District Police Office Chitwan Superintendent of Police (SP) Rameshwar Karki.

Due to severe injuries to his head and legs, SP Karki notified that the first operation on his head had begun. He stated that the situation is critical and that he is unable to comment now that the operation has begun.

Driver Thapa and RSP General Minister Mukul Dhakal’s driver, Kaluram Rajbanshi, were sleeping together at night on the roof. The CCTV clip shows Thapa falling at 3:54 a.m. ‘He has suffered major injuries to his head and legs,’ added SP Karki, ‘and we have been transported to the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur. The operation on the severely injured head has begun.’

Spokesman Mukul Dhakal’s driver, who was sleeping together, has been detained by the police.

SP Karki confirmed that Dhakal driver Kaluram Rajbanshi was detained and interrogated.
