Police and microfinance victims clash in Sunsari, 3 injured

BIRATNAGAR: There was a clash between microfinance victims and victims in Inaruwa, the headquarters of Sunsari.

Police Superintendent of District Police Office Sunsari Prabhu Dhakal informed that three individuals were injured in the clash, including two police officers.
According to the police, two officers and a female demonstrator were hurt when stones were hurled at them when they were removing protestors who were blocking traffic.
All three injured people have been discharged from District Hospital Inaruwa. More than 200 of the approximately 250 protesters were women.
According to the police, there was no severe damage as a result of their calmness.
Victims of numerous microfinance firms have been demonstrating in Inaruwa for the past month.
They had previously sent a memorandum to the district administration office and held a sit-in.
