COVID infection increasing, doctor’s advice to take safety precautions
As the number of persons sick with the corona virus has increased, so has the number of patients receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in hospitals.
KATHMANDU: With the rise in corona infections, the number of persons receiving vaccinated against corona has begun to rise in Kathmandu Valley hospitals.
Corona infection has been on the rise in recent weeks.
As the number of persons sick with the corona virus has increased, so has the number of patients receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in hospitals. Over the last few days, the number of infected people in Nepal has increased by roughly 100 every day.
Meanwhile, some persons have perished as a result of the corona virus.
According to Dr. Sher Bahadur Pun of Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, those who died as a result of corona virus infection are only senior folks and chronic patients.
He said that the reason for the increase in the corona virus is that there are currently sub-variants of the Omicron variant. He said that 9 sub-variants have been found in Nepal and more than half of them are new species.
Dr Pun mentioned that among the new variants, XBB-1-16 is the type that spreads the infection more in the community.
He claims that this sub-variant is responsible for 42 percent of recent illnesses in Nepal. The number of corona patients at Kathmandu’s Shukraraj Hospital is growing in tandem with the growth in corona infection.
According to the hospital, patients with corona virus symptoms are coming in for health checks, and the number of persons admitted to the hospital and seeking treatment has grown.
“Recently, the number of corona infected people seems to be increasing,” he said, “Compared to a few weeks and on average, the number of infected people is around 100 daily. Some people have also died. Due to the increasing number of corona virus, it has been said that the sub-variants of the Omicron variant are for now. There are now 9 sub-variants in Nepal. It looks more new than etc.
According to him, the virus of the XBB-1-16 variety is the primary source of corona spread. He claims that this type is responsible for up to 42 percent of corona spread in Nepal. This is also the cause of illness dissemination in India. This implies that it is contagious.
Although contagious, Delta is a sub-variant of Omicron, making it less dangerous than the type found in the preceding wave.
According to him, there have been senior folks and long-term patients who have died in the ICU.
As a result, if you haven’t been vaccinated, he recommends a booster dosage.
According to him, while it is not regarded particularly dangerous, it can impact the chronically ill and the elderly, therefore measures must be taken.
Human losses can be reduced if actions are adopted in a timely manner. Masks must be used, and hand hygiene must be practiced on a regular basis.
He stated that if safeguards are taken together with health regulations, you would not have to endure any further harm.
