Foundation stone of the country’s model road construction placed one year following the agreement

POKHARA: The Talchowk-Begnas Lake section, which will be upgraded as a model road in the country, has been repaved. Dhanraj Acharya, Mayor of Pokhara, lay the foundation stone for this segment, which had previously been halted.
Mayor Acharya stated that the road could not be built due to the lengthy debate, and that it will now be completed quickly. ‘However, it should not be worn. ”The work should be completed within the time frame stated,” he instructs the building company after laying the road’s foundation stone.
The 3.28 km road renovation is scheduled to be completed on Chaitra 26th, 2081 (9 April , 2025). This road is regarded the most expensive road in the country in terms of financial investment.
Acharya stated that the work will not be halted due to a lack of funds and advised them to prioritize quality building. The road will include four lanes with greenery, sidewalks, cycling tracks, and separators, as well as five bridges.
The road will have a 1.5 meter wide divider in the middle, 2.5 meter wide parking on both sides, a 1 meter wide green area on both sides, a 2 meter wide sidewalk above the drain on both sides, and 4 cm thick asphalt.
The road construction contract was given to Swachhand-Sapana-Worldwide JB, Kathmandu.
Swachhand-Sapana-Worldwide JB got the contract by quoting about 39 percent less than the cost estimate. The road, which has been contracted for 75 crore 48 lakh 67 thousand, is expected to be completed in 730 days. Narayan Bhusal, a construction businessman, has vowed to complete his tasks on schedule if no impediments arise.
