KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s national Disciplinary Committee is still meeting in the party’s national office in Basundhara.
According to Deputy Chair Dol Prasad Aryal, the meeting, which began after 11 a.m., is still ongoing.
Currently, Dr. Dhaka Kumar Shrestha has been suspended from the party after an audio recording of him asking 2 crores of rupees from medical practitioner Durga Prasai and promising to become a minister was leaked.
SASWPA’s Disciplinary Committee is comprised of four members, including the coordinator, Professor Dr. Bharat Mani Devkota. Aryal stated that the committee would present a report to the Central Committee by this evening, and it will be decided whether or not to prosecute Shrestha based on that report.
He told Makalu Khabar, ‘Whether it’s a mistake or not, it will be known after the committee examines it. After the disciplinary committee submits its report, the central committee decides whether to study further or take action. Now, until the report comes, it cannot be said. There is an impartial committee in the investigation committee. There is no mistake in the decision.’
He said both good and evil people will enter the great party and said that his party will not defend those who are bringing harm to the party and the society. ‘If we make a mistake as party members, we are not in a position to leave,’ he remarked.
