KATHMANDU: Gagan Kumar Thapa, a Nepali Congress MP, has asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to undertake an emergency dialogue with Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

During a House of Representatives emergency meeting on Monday, MP Thapa asked the Prime Minister to quickly communicate with the Metropolitan Corporation about the Kathmandu Metropolitan City not clearing up waste inside the Singha Durbar.

He also asked the two levels of government to immediately exchange concerns that needed to be exchanged. He demanded that an agreement be reached on the topics necessary to meet the Metropolitan Corporation’s reasonable demands.

The Kathmandu’s people’s representatives should be included in discussions between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the federal government, said MP Thapa.

He said, ‘There has been a clash between Bagh Durbar and Singha Durbar. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has said that they will not pick up garbage. When an elected representative, the head of the local government is expressing his disagreement, there can be a debate about whether it is right or wrong to listen to his demand by interrupting essential services, the language used, the love. Let’s discuss at the appropriate time. Now, I would like to request the Honorable Prime Minister, without any delay, without any request, to discuss with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Communicate. Whatever subject should be changed now, let it be changed. Let there be an agreement on matters that need to be agreed upon. Let the legitimate demands be met. And we, the people’s representatives of Kathmandu, should also be included in this process.’

He also asked that the leaders of various municipalities throughout the country seek employees at Singha Durbar and put an end to the scenario in which they are required to go to Singha Durbar.
