Chasing a winning target of 158 runs for victory, Chennai finished losing 3 wickets in 18.1 overs. Ajinkya Rahane of Chennai played an excellent innings of 61 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 40 runs. Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 20 runs. Mumbai’s Jason Behrendorff, Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya took one wicket each.
Mumbai, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, lost 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored 157 runs.
Mumbai opener Ishan Kishan scored the highest 32 runs. Tim David scored 21 runs.
