74 people gone missing in Baitadi in nine months

Baitadi Police Spokesperson, Police Inspector Yogesh Khatri informed that 30 of the 47 missing women have been found.

KATHMANDU: Seventy-four people have gone missing in Baitadi, which has a border with India, in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to the District Police Office’s data, 74 persons have gone missing this year, including 47 women.

Baitadi Police Spokesperson, Police Inspector Yogesh Khatri informed that 30 of the 47 missing women have been found.

Similarly, according to District Police Office Baitadi, just one man was found out of 18 girls, seven and four boys missing, three and five men missing.

According to police inspector Khatri, some of the missing women and children are discovered as a result of police operations, while others are discovered on their relatives’ initiative. When they went missing, they used to report to the police, but many of them were discovered but did not report to the police.

According to the authorities, the missing person is still being looked for in the district’s subordinate police station and in surrounding districts using images and pictures. The district’s border with India has also been reinforced.
