He further stated that, with the rise of cruelty-free tourism around the world, no one will travel to Nepal to view a decapitated elephant.
KATHMANDU: Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has urged that the criminals who severed the elephant’s trunk be probed and punished.
He made this demand while speaking at zero time of the House of Representatives on Friday.
“The trunk of a 45-year-old elephant named Chanchalkali was brutally cut into two parts using a sharp weapon at Sauraha in Chitwan on the April 4 of last Tuesday,” he said, ‘We understand the value of everything, we do not understand the importance of anything. This is a crime against humanity. I request the Minister of Tourism, the Minister of Home Affairs to investigate the culprits of the incident and take action.’
He further stated that, with the rise of cruelty-free tourism around the world, no one will travel to Nepal to view a decapitated elephant’s trunk.
