Border issues to be resolved through diplomatic means
The government issued the 'United Government's Priority and Common Minimum Program' today, pledging to raise the BOP of the Border Security Post for effective border administration and regulation.
KATHMANDU: The government of Nepal has announced that it will handle the pending border concerns with the neighboring nations in Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, Kalapani and other areas through diplomatic means.
The government issued the ‘United Government’s Priority and Common Minimum Program’ today, pledging to raise the BOP of the Border Security Post for effective border administration and regulation.
Rekha Sharma, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, announced the shared minimum program at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Council of Ministers, and stated that foreign help will be mobilized in areas of national priority.
He said that the national security policy will be implemented with necessary modifications so that the country’s sovereignty, geographical integrity, independence, freedom, self-respect and protection of people’s livelihood will be fully guaranteed.
The government has stated its intention to effectively implement water resource policy and to use water resources bilaterally and multilaterally in the national interest, as well as to review treaty agreements that are detrimental to the national interest and enter into new treaty agreements as needed.
The present government’s aim is to offer the necessary means and resources to boost morale while emphasizing security forces professionalism.
Minister Sharma stated that required preparations will be taken to meet the problems of cyber security, energy security, and other areas that have grown in importance as technology has advanced. The government has stated that it will work to create a national consensus on fundamental problems of national security, macroeconomics, and strategic significance.
