KATHMANDU: Dr. Chandrakant Bhandari, Nepali Congress leader and member of the House of Representatives, has been given a normal diet.

Bhandari, who is being treated at the National Burn Center in Mumbai, India, has been given normal food after being injured in a fire at a private residence in Buddhanagar on Feb 15 due to a “gas leak.”

Dr. Bhandari’s brother, Meen Prasad Bhandari, reported that his brother’s health, who was seriously injured in the fire, is improving and that the skin on his face is healing.

“Dr. Bhandari is receiving physiotherapy, the grafted skin is responding well, and his health is improving,” Dr. Bhandari’s brother Min Prasad said.

Dr. Bhandari’s physiotherapy is still ongoing, according to Brother Min Prasad, and he has been living independently for some time.

Doctors have stated that there is no need for immediate surgery because the skin on the face is improving.

The hospital administration has strictly prohibited visitors in order to control the infection.
