KATHMANDU: Unilever has partnered with the Nepal Army on the “Mountain Cleaning Campaign 2023” as part of its commitment to “making sustainable living a commonplace.” Unilever is honored to collaborate with the Nepal Army on this noble initiative. This year’s theme is “An Effort to Save the Himalayas.”

This is Unilever’s third collaboration with the national cleanup program to keep the Himalayas clean of waste because Unilever believes in and stands for what is good for Nepal.

By cleaning up peaks, the multi-stakeholder program aims to protect the mountains while also mitigating the effects of climate change. This year’s goal is to collect 35 tons of garbage and clean Mt. Everest, Mt. Lotse, Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Baruntse.

The transition to a circular economy approach is central to Unilever’s waste-free world strategy. Waste disposal negligence is destroying the beauty of the mountains and endangering the health of our planet.

Mr. Amlan Mukherjee, Managing Director of Unilever Nepal Ltd., stated that “through this continued collaboration, we aim to set new records this year in collection, segregation, and recycling of accumulated waste.”

Actions that benefit Nepal by assisting it in maintaining its pride in its peaks. Unilever couldn’t have chosen a more worthy cause than mountain cleanup.

Unilever is dedicated to improving global health. It intends to work hard to combat plastic packaging waste, particularly through partnerships and collaborations that drive change outside of their own operations.

The ultimate goal is to develop a waste management system based on a circular economy. “We are committed to making sustainable living a norm for all and will continue to engage in programs like these in the coming days,” Mr. Amlan Mukherjee said.
