KATHMANDU: The play ‘Marx is Back’ is currently being performed at Arohan Gurukul’s Kunja Theater in Thapagaun.
Sunil Pokharel and Praveen Khatiwada’s play, conceived and directed by them, has been on the stage since March 31.
Damodar Upadhyaya has translated and prepared the Nepali version of the play ‘Marx in Soho’ written by American historian and leftist Howard Jean to calm the curiosity about Marx’s difficult life 140 years ago, his family and his struggles.
Marx was murdered numerous times by the capitalist world, which declared the end of history. But, in every global crisis, Marx returns and proves his statements about capitalism to be correct.
‘Marx’ has returned to Kunja Theatre once more to prove the truth of his statement.
Utsav Budhathoki edited the music for the play, and Sujata Bhattarai designed the costumes. Sunil Pokharel, Nisha Sharma, Rambhajan Kamat, Raj Neupane, Subash Timalsina, Sunisha Bajgain, and others have appeared in a drama produced by Hum BC.
The play will be performed at 5:30 p.m. every day except Monday until April 22.
The stage will also be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to Arohan Gurukul.
