Govt is committed to prevent activities that weaken the republic: DPM Shrestha
Speaking at a House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he stated that the government is also committed to completing transitional justice work in order to complete the rest of the peace process.
KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has stated that the government is determined and committed to preventing any activity in the country that weakens the federal democratic republic.
He stated that the government is determined not to lose the gains made through the people’s self-sacrificing struggle.
Speaking at a House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he stated that the government is also committed to completing transitional justice work in order to complete the rest of the peace process.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha, the government intends to solve the problem by involving the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Absence Investigation Commission in the implementation process.
‘The government is determined and committed not to do anything to weaken or undermine this system’s achievements,’ he said. We will also finish the remainder of the peace process.’
He stated that by drafting the constitution through the Constituent Assembly, the work of institutionalizing the federal democratic republic and socialism-oriented inclusive democracy won through struggle was completed.
Likewise, he stated that the work of adjusting and managing the People’s Liberation Army or Maoist fighters was completed.
He stated that the government has moved forward in completing the work of transitional justice by incorporating the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Transitional Justice Commission into the implementation process.
Similarly, he stated that the goal is to intensify the development and prosperity campaign in order to bring about positive changes in people’s lives.
