KATHMANDU: Meter usury victims who came to Kathmandu on foot to seek justice have cried out to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The victims, who had reached in Baluwatar early in the morning to meet the Prime Minister, sobed in front of the Prime Minister.

They sobbed as they told the Prime Minister about their problems.

Shyam, one of the victims, sobbed in front of the Prime Minister, explaining that he was living on rent in his own house after being evicted by the meter usury.

One of the victims, a woman, expressed her pain at having her real estate seized after taking out a Rs. 10 lakh loan. Because of her pain, she couldn’t even speak.

Meter usury victims have requested ten points, including the abolition of the Tamsuk system as well as the punishment of the perpetrators, the return of the moneylender’s illegal property to the name of the person from whom it originated, and simple and easy bank loans.
