Truck driver dies in lightning strike in Siraha

KATHMANDU: Lightning struck a truck driver in Siraha, killing him.

Netra Prasad Gautam (Kumar) of Rautahat Chandrapur-8, the driver of truck (Na 5 BKha 3721), died while on his way to get cement at Saurya Cement Industry in Mirchaiya Municipality-1 of Siraha.

According to the Mirchaiya District Police Office, Gautam died while being treated at Karjanha’s Phul Kumari Memorial Hospital after being injured in a lightning strike while tying a tarpaulin to a truck.

The body is kept at a hospital, police said.
