SEE starts nationwide; compulsory English on the first day (photos included)

KATHMANDU: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for this year began at 8:00 a.m. today across the country.

In the first day, the students are attending exam for compulsory English while the students from Sanskrit stream are taking exam for compulsory Sanskrit language and literature, and compulsory Nepali.

The exam is being taken by 516,591 students from 2,037 examination centers across the country.

14 students participated in Japan, according to the National Examination Board Examination Control Office.

They are administering the exam from a designated location in Tokyo.

SEE has students from 11,429 schools, including 7,265 public schools and 4,564 private schools.

The SEE examination committee has been formed in all 77 districts, with the coordination of the Chief District Officer.

The exam will be administered from a different school center than the one where the students studied.

The highest number of examinees are in Bagmati State (106,959) and the lowest in Karnali State (41,329). Around 15,000 students will be taking the exams in the technical stream.

Examinations Controller Bishnu Narayan Shrestha said State Examination Operation and Management Committee formed under chairmanship of States Secretary in every state would operate, manage and monitor the examinations in the States remaining in the periphery of Board’s directives.

In the resource class for the visually impaired, a sub-center has been established. The examination will last until April 12.
