KATHMANDU: The stock market fell on Thursday, the week’s final trading day.

The stock market fell 0.57 percent on Thursday after rising for three days in a row.

Similarly, the sensitive index, which measures large company share turnover, fell 1.66 points to 359.48 points.

The stock market had been rising earlier in the day on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a total of 27,50,655 shares of 254 companies traded for a total of 899.5 million rupees.

In the NEPSE index, 49 companies have increased. 157 companies have declined, while 9 have remained stable.

Shivam Cement leads the industry in terms of turnover. Himalaya Distillery is the runner-up. The company’s annual revenue exceeds 3 crore 12 lakh rupees.

On Monday, there was a general increase in hotel and tourism companies, as well as mutual fund companies, while all other companies fell.

Today, 10 percent of the shares of Supermy Hydropower Company have been traded.
