565 out of 1981 passed the Engineer Licensure Examination

KATHMANDU: 565 people have passed the engineer license exam.

According to Council Chair Padam Shahi, only 565 of the 1981 students who took the exam passed.
He stated that he took the exam on the 27 and 28 of March and that only 28.5 percent of the students passed. He stated that the exam was divided into 20 engineering-related categories.
The Engineering Council has begun taking the license examination to register as an engineer for the first time.
Those who do not pass will not receive the council’s certificate and will be unable to work as engineers in Nepal, according to the council.
“According to our law, we took the exam on 12th and 13th Chait, which should be registered by the Nepal Engineering Council,” said Shahi, “and 1981 students were present in it.
In which 565 people have passed. Most of them were examined in 20 categories, and the highest number was 1153 in civil engineering. Only about 28 and a half percent have passed this result. The pass mark is 50 percent.
Chair Shahi stated that they have begun the examination for the license as engineers who have passed engineering must be registered with the council in order to do engineering business.
Previously, the Engineering Council did not administer the exam to engineering students.
The council was working as an engineer without an examination on the basis of a university engineering pass certificate.
However, as of now, one can only work in any engineering-related business after passing the council exam and obtaining permission.
