NEPALGUNJ: 22 complaints have been filed against meter interest at the district administration office in Banke.

According to the District Administration Office, 15 of the complaints have reached the court process, two have been settled, two have been sent to the police, one person has not been contacted, and two are in the process of action.

Bipin Acharya, the Chief District Officer of Banke, stated that there is no major problem of meter usury in the district and that the action process is carried out on a regular basis. “There is no such issue as there is in the east,” he said.

Acharya informed the court that the case that had reached the court would be settled by the court and that there was some settlement and that one person had not been contacted and that the search is ongoing.

An investigation was launched after the government requested that victims of meter bagging file a complaint.
