KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the new vice president has begun.

The voting for Vice President started at 10 a.m. on Friday at Parliament House New Baneshwor and ended at 3 p.m.

According to Assistant Election Officer Amrita Kumari Sharma, vote counting has begun.

He expects the results to be available by 5 p.m.

Sharma also stated that the newly elected Vice President will be given the certificate of election as Vice President on Friday after the votes have been counted.

In the election, the alliance’s common candidate is Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav. Similarly, CPN-Astalaxmi UML’s Shakya.

Mamata Jha of the Janata Dal-Secular is another alliance candidate. Although Pramila Kumari Yadav, who had been nominated by the JSP, is a candidate, she has declared her candidacy inactive and has endorsed Ram Sahaya Yadav of the JSP.
