POKHARA: Air flight from Pokhara to Biratnagar started on 3 Feb, 2020. After a few days of operation, the flight on the same  route was terminated due to a lack of passengers. Simara flight began on Sept 5, 2021, from Pokhara.

The flight from Pokhara to Dhangadhi began on March 2, 2022. A high-level delegation, including government representatives, paid a visit to Dhangadhi.

The airport, which opened in 1982, operated two days a week until 2013. Following that, the Gandaki government decided to reopen the closed airport and launch a test flight.

The flight carried the then-Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, the Tourism Minister, and other high-ranking officials. So far, it is claimed that the flight cost has not even been incurred. The Pokhara-Bhadrapur flight began on March 9, last year. Pokhara Metropolitan took its place.

The team, which included the metropolitan mayor, Dhanraj Acharya, visited Bhadrapur and returned. The flight has since come to a halt there.

In this way, the government’s announcement is making waves when the flights, which were launched with pomp and circumstance using millions of dollars of government funds, are canceled.

The Gandaki government announced plans to fly Pokhara to major cities throughout the country. There are currently scheduled flights to Bharatpur, Bhairahawa, and Kathmandu.

The airline stated that the flight was canceled due to a lack of passengers. ‘Can fly. ‘However, when there are no passengers, there is no question of flying at a loss,’ the companies say; ‘when there are passengers, they will fly again.’ Tourism experts say it’s unfortunate that flights are cancelled as soon as they take off. Airlines have also encountered issues with regular flights when they began flights solely for the purpose of discussion without considering the business potential.
