KATHMANDU: The government has removed the provision for a two-year work permit for Nepalis going to the Gulf countries for work.
Instead, it was decided to grant a work permit for the same period based on the destination country’s work permit or the work agreement between the employer and the worker.
According to Danduraj Ghimire, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, this decision was made based on the discovery that workers currently working in Gulf countries are given a two-year work permit.
