Raphinha’s decisive goal in Barcelona’s victory

KATHMANDU: Barcelona maintained their 9-point lead at the top of La Liga with a hard-fought victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Real Madrid defeated Espanyol on Saturday, cutting Barcelona’s lead to six points.

Raphinha’s only first-half play in injury time proved decisive. Many of Bilbao’s attempts were foiled by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will now meet in the El Clasico on Sunday at the Nou Camp. After 25 games, Barcelona has 65 points, while Real is second with 56.
