The shutdown called for today by some political parties and ethnic organizations has had a limited impact.
The JSP, Federal Limbuwan Party, Kirat Rai, Yayokkha, Kirat Yakthung Chumlung, and other organizations are in favor of the shutdown.

Activists from that party and organization have been marching since the morning, obstructing traffic and closing the market area. Although the full impact of the shutdown is not yet visible, people’s lives have been impacted.
Dharan, Itahari, Belbari, Pathari, Urlabari, Damak, Birtamode, Phidim, and other major markets in Koshi State have been impacted.
Although the market is open, there are fewer vehicles on the road. Bhim Rai, a key member of the JSP, stated that they had to protest because they had ignored the identity movement by forcibly renaming Province 1 Koshi State.
