KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s tenure is ending today. His second term of five years is ending tonight.
Bhandari was elected to the post of President for the first time on 5 Nov, 2015. After that, she was elected for the second term on 13 March, 2018.
Nepali Congress candidate Ram Chandra Poudel has been elected as the new president on March 9. He will be sworn in tomorrow. Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Poudel.
Now Bhandari has to leave Sheetal Niwas. According to her secretariat, she will shift from Sheetal Niwas to a private residence at Budanilkantha-2 Chapali. She is preparing to shift to a private residence on the March 13.
