KATHMANDU: Mamata Jha of the Janamat Party has declared her candidacy for Vice President.
On Saturday, she filed her candidacy for Vice President at the Presidential and Vice Presidential Election Office in the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.
The Janamat Party, the Nagarik Unmukti Party, and the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party all back Jha.
There was no agreement on selecting a single candidate at the meeting to select a common candidate from ten parties.
As of now, both the JSP and the Janamat Party have nominated candidates for Vice President.
Although three candidates from 10 parties were nominated on Saturday, it is said that the final decision will be made by the discussion between the top leaders again tomorrow.
Before this, JSP’s Ram Sahaya Yadav and Pramila Yadav have also registered their candidature from the alliance.
Similarly, the candidacy of Vice President Astalaxmi Shakya has been filed on behalf of CPN UML.
