Nagarik Unmukti Party decides to field Ranjita Shrestha for Vice-President
A meeting of the party's parliamentary party this morning made a decision to field House of Representatives member Shrestha as the Vice-Presidential candidate.
KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party has decided to field the party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha (Chaudhary) as the candidate for the Vice-President.
A meeting of the party’s parliamentary party this morning made a decision to field House of Representatives member Shrestha as the Vice-Presidential candidate, said Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the Nagarik Unmukti Party, parliamentary party Chief Whip.
According to him, the party would propose Shrestha’s name for the Vice-President candidate in the eight-party meeting. Shrestha is the elected lawmaker from Kailali constituency-1.
Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal on Thursday decided to field the party’s parliamentary party leader Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav as the Vice-Presidential candidate.
Registration of candidacy for the Vice-President is scheduled to take place on March 11. The election to the post of Vice-President is on March 17.
