Demand action against village chair Yadav for caste abuse
Morcha submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer of Siraha Bhojraj Khatiwada today, demanding that village chair Yadav be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for caste abuse.

KATHMANDU: The United Dalit Morcha Siraha has called for action against Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality Chair Ugra Narayan Yadav, who has insulted the Dalit community.
Morcha submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer of Siraha Bhojraj Khatiwada today, demanding that village chair Yadav be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for caste abuse.
“I have reached the height of caste discrimination and untouchability by putting up the Jama placard and separate eating places for non-Dalits, Muslims and Dalits,” said a statement signed by Rabin Kumar Mahara, the secretary of the Morcha, saying, “Ugra Narayan Yadav, the president of the rural municipality, who behaves in such a way as to humiliate the Dalit community, will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.” We demand.’
The Morcha believes that the participation of people in public positions such as former ministers, wahalwala state ministers, federal and state parliamentarians, and district chief administrators in the banquet has further institutionalized caste discrimination.
The Morcha has also warned in a pamphlet that if those responsible for the heinous crimes against Dalits are not brought to justice immediately, the Dalit community will launch a strong protest.
Village chairman Yadav, who is also the district secretary of CPN-UML, served a feast to Dalit, Muslim and non-Dalit communities in separate places by pasting placards and flex boards on the day of his mother’s 13th death anniversary. His move is widely opposed.
