KATHMANDU: Political parties that broke away from the then-CPN Maoists and are sympathetic to Maoist ideas are meeting.
The meeting is being held at Baluwatar, the Prime Minister’s official residence.
In the meeting, Prime Minister and Chair of Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepal Samajwadi Party (NESPA) led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, CPN Maoist Revolutionaries led by Mohan Vaidya, CPN led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav, CPN Majority led by Dharmendra Bastola, Scientific Socialist Communist Party led by world devotee Dulal Ahuti, the leaders of CPN Maoist Samajwadi led by Karnajit Budhathoki are participating.
Following the filing of the case against Prachanda for the conflict-time incident, discussions have taken place between Maoist leaders who have grown close to each other about achieving as much party unity as possible, or, if that is not immediately possible, working unity.
At a meeting of the Maoist line’s eight parties last Tuesday, the leaders stated that they will counter activities against the detailed peace agreement.
