KATHMANDU: The hearing in the writ against Prime Minister and Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will be held today.

The hearing for the postponed writ for ‘not to be seen’ on Thursday has been set for today.

The writ was filed on Thursday in the Supreme Court bench of Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha. Prachanda stated on 14 Jan 2017 in Tundikhel, Kathmandu, that he would accept responsibility for the 5,000 people killed during the conflict.

Gyanendraraj Aran, Kalyan Budhathoki, and others, according to the statement, have petitioned the Supreme Court for an investigation and prosecution of him. Previously, the court administration dismissed their writ.

On Friday, a joint bench of Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Hariprasad Phuyal overturned the bench’s order. After the bench order was overturned, Prachanda was served with a writ last Tuesday.

Following the hearing of the arguments, the bench will issue an order. Following the order, it will be decided whether or not the case against Prime Minister Prachanda will be pursued.
