KATHMANDU: Ram Chandra Poudel has been elected President of Nepal. Poudel was elected president with 33,802 votes in Thursday’s election.
Subas Chandra Nemwang, the presidential candidate of Poudel’s main rival, the CPN-UML, received 15,518 votes.
Poudel, who won the presidency, received the votes of 214 federal parliamentarians.
Poudel received 16,896 votes from the state legislature. Similarly, 352 state legislators have been elected. He received 19,908 votes from the state legislature.
Subas Nemwang received the support of 98 federal legislators. Nemwang got 7,742 votes from this MP.
Likewise, he got the votes of 162 state MPs. He got 7,776 votes from this MP.
