At least 2 killed, 84 injured in Nigeria train-bus collision

LAGOS: At least two people were killed and 84 others injured Thursday in a train-bus collision in Lagos, Nigeria’s economic hub, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said.

Two female staff members of the Lagos state government were found dead, while several others injured have been evacuated, Ibrahim Farinloye, a regional coordinator for the NEMA, told Xinhua.

According to him, the state government staff bus was trying to cross the rail line when the train coming into Lagos from Abeokuta trapped the bus on its rail.

No other detail is available at the moment.

Farinloye added all the injured are receiving necessary treatment at hospitals.
