Presidential election: 831 MPs voted, 51 not present

KATHMANDU: 831 MPs voted in the presidential election. 313 MPs of the Federal Parliament (House of Representatives and National Assembly) and 518 MPs of the State Assembly voted in the election.

According to Assistant Election Officer Amrita Kumari Sharma, 19 members of the federal parliament and 32 members of the provincial parliament were absent from the polling.

According to Sharma, currently the work of voting is over and the collection of bond is going on. She said that counting of votes will start as soon as the work of bond is over.

She said, ‘We are trying to give the results of the final election by 7 o’clock. Maybe it can be done. The election ended on time, nothing bad happened.’
