KATHMANDU: The presidential election voting has concluded. The voting was started from 10 am & ended at 3 pm .

The Election Commission has decided to meet with representatives of the presidential candidates and begin counting votes at 4 p.m.

The presidential election was attended by 831 members of Parliament. The election was attended by 313 members of the Federal Parliament (House of Representatives and National Assembly) and 518 members of the State Assembly.

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel and Vice Chair Subas Chandra Nemwang are CPN UML candidates in the presidential election as joint candidates from the nine-party alliance.

For the overall election, Ramesh Ukhtar on behalf of Paudel and Mahesh Bartaula on behalf of Nemwang are as representatives.

Separate polling stations was designated for the voters in the Lhotse chamber in the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.

According to the Constitution of Nepal, a president will be elected, and the president is entrusted with the responsibility to protect and abide by the constitution, and promote the national unity.

The country entered the presidential system following the establishment of republic through the 2062/63 movements.

Different top political party leaders voted in the presidential election voting program on Thursday (today).
