KATHMANDU: Ganesh Prasad Timalsina, Speaker of the National Assembly, voted in the presidential election.

He voted at the Federal MP polling station set up in New Baneshwor’s Lhotse Chamber of the Parliament Building.

Both presidential candidates, Ram Chandra Poudel and Subas Chandra Nemwang, have already cast their ballots.

Similarly, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Nepali Congress Chair Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN Unified Socialist Chair Madhav Nepal voted.

Assistant Election Officer Amrita Kumari Sharma did not say whether the voting, which began at 10 a.m., would continue until 3 p.m.

Ram Chandra Poudel of the Nepali Congress and Subas Chandra Nemwang of the CPN-UML are vying for the position of third president.
