Serious comment by President of NA on wrong constitution
Speaker Timilsina made this remark in response to the situation that arose when then-Prime Minister KP Oli dissolved Parliament.
KATHMANDU: Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Speaker of the National Assembly, has made a serious remark about the House of Representatives’ dissolution because the constitution was written incorrectly.
Speaker Timilsina made this remark in response to the situation that arose when then-Prime Minister KP Oli dissolved Parliament.
Addressing the program organized on the occasion of the 9th Foundation Day of Family Private Forest Association of Nepal on Wednesday, he said that the political parties ignored the fact that when the government is unable to do anything, the parliament should be dissolved and it should go to the people.
It is a practice everywhere in the world that the government dissolves the parliament if something happens when the people’s representative organization is running properly. That was happening in Nepal’, he has said.
Chair Timilsina blamed the paper for the political parties’ inability to work together properly. ‘What is the irony of partitioning, bringing an ordinance to dissolve one party, bringing an ordinance to join another party, partitioning, dividing ministers, partitioning, dividing ministers, should we save it by not dissolving it?’ he asked.
“If elections had been held, a new one would have arrived,” Timilsina explained.
He claimed that politicians do not change their habits and instead blame the rules and laws.
