ICC World Cup League 2: Nepal beat UAE by 42 runs
Nepal batted first after winning the toss and scored 229 runs in 50 overs.

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated UAE today in the ICC World Cup League 2 match.
Nepal defeated the UAE by a score of 42 runs.
While chasing the 230-run target set by Nepal for the home team UAE, the UAE managed only 187 runs in 45 overs.
Nepal batted first after winning the toss and scored 229 runs in 50 overs.
Nepal won the triangular ODI series by 42 runs over the UAE, thanks to the excellent bowling of Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee. Nepal has defeated UAE in League 2 for the first time.
Nepal has surpassed UAE to take fifth place in the league-2 points table with this victory. Nepal will now be granted ODI status if they win two of their remaining four matches.
For UAE, opener Asif Khan scored the highest 82 runs in 115 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
Dipendra Singh Airee bowled Asif Khan out on the first ball of the 42nd over. Soon after, he dismissed Karthik Meiyappan, giving him two wickets in a row.
Sompal Kami took the wicket of UAE batsman and captain Mohammad Wasim in the second ball of the first over. Aryan Lakra and Asif Khan combined for 94 runs to get UAE back into the game.
Dipendra Sinh Airee ended Lakra’s run by dismissing him for 50 runs. He hit four fours and one six out of 78 balls. In the final ball of the 30th over, Aarif dismissed UAE’s leading batsman Vritya Arvind for 13 runs.
In the fifth ball of the 34th over, Sompal Kami caught former captain CP Rizwan for 7 runs off Dipendra Singh Airee. Kami dismissed Mustafa Sompal for 6 runs. Ayan Khan was out for two runs.
Dipendra Singh Airee took three wickets for 18 runs in eight overs for Nepal. Sompal Kami took two wickets for 26 runs with one maiden over seven overs. Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Aarif Sheikh each took a wicket.
Nepal scored 229 runs in 50 overs, losing 8 wickets. Bhim Sarki of Nepal scored 70 runs in 99 balls, including seven fours.
Bhim has achieved his first international high score. Rohan Mustafa bowled Bhim out in the third ball of the 45th over.
Aarif Sheikh scored 43 runs off 56 balls, including two fours and one six. Pratish GC hit a boundary and scored 11 runs in 6 balls.
Sandeep Lamichhane and Bhim Sarki contributed 56 runs for the sixth wicket to bring Nepal back into the game. Sandeep was out for 27 runs off 40 balls, with one boundary.
Gyanendra Malla was out for 11 runs with the final ball of the ninth over. Gyanendra hit two fours in 26 balls. In the second ball of the 12th over, captain Rohit Paudel was bowled for one run. In 32 balls, Kushal Malla hit four fours and two sixes.
