Nepal set a target of 230 runs for UAE

KATHMANDU: Nepal set a 230-run target for the UAE in the triangular series under the ICC World Cup League-2 on Monday.

Nepal batted first after losing the toss and scored 229 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.

Nepal gave the home team UAE that challenging goal in the first half-century of Bhim Sarki, the young batsman number five for Nepal.

Bhim Sarki scored 70 runs in 99 balls for Nepal, including seven fours. Similarly, Aarif Sheikh scored 43 runs off 56 balls, including two fours and one six. Pratish GC scored 11 runs off 6 balls, including one boundary.

Sandeep Lamichhane and Bhim Sarki scored 56 runs for the sixth wicket to bring Nepal back into the game. Sandeep was out for 27 runs off 40 balls, with one boundary. Asif Sheikh contributed six runs.

Gyanendra Malla was out for 11 runs lbw. Gyanendra hit two fours in 26 balls. Captain Rohit Poudel was caught out on the first ball of the 12th over.

In 32 balls, Kushal Malla hit four fours and two sixes.

Dipendra Singh Airee has been declared LBW. Aarif and Bhim Sarki scored 56 runs together. Karan KC scored 17 runs in 11 balls, including one four and one six.

Junaid Siddique took three wickets and scored 53 runs in ten overs, including one maiden. Rohan Mustafa took two wickets for 43 runs in nine overs, including one maiden. In 8 overs, Aryan Larkan took two wickets for 30 runs. One wicket was taken by Karthik Meiyappan.
