KATHMANDU: Holi, the festival of color, is being celebrated with a huge fanfare in the hilly region of the country on Monday (today) and Tuesday (tomorrow) in Terai districts.

While celebrating Holi, young women and girls who have arrived in Dhulikhel are playing with colors and having fun on the zipline. On the occasion of Phagu Purnima, there is also a 20% discount on any zip line.

It has been four years since World Wide Adventure Pvt Ltd launched Classic Zipline, Superman Zipline (which can be flown) and Tandem (two people can play together) Zipline in Dhulikhel. At Dhulikhel, Nepal’s first Superman and tandem zipline have been launched.

An 1110-meter zipline connects Thakle in Dhulikhel Municipality to Khawa in Panchkhaal. The zipline, which can accommodate 100 people per day, travels at a speed of 75 kilometers per hour.

While flying at a vertical drop of about 300 meters, one can see the nearby mountains Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and Furbichyachu, as well as the greenery of nearby fields and forests.

Kedar Thapa of Sindhupalchowk and Bhupesh Shrestha of Kathmandu have invested around 7 crores in building a restaurant, resort, and children’s adventure park, as well as a zipline.
