‘Coordination among three-layer of governments needed for prosperity’

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Lumbini State Leela Giri has said that three layers of governments have the responsibility to work for the nation’s prosperity through mutual coordination though the three layers of the governments are autonomous.
At an interaction programme organized by Nepal Law Society on effective coordination of federal, state and local levels and present status and strategy of local governments on Sunday, Giri said that honesty was needed for the implementation of the laws after its formulation.
“Making the laws honestly and remaining firm on it is today’s priority. It is the responsibility to move ahead by resolving the issues that contradict to each other among the three layers of the government,” according to the Chief Minister.
Likewise, Speaker of State Assembly Tularam Gharti argued that more challenges are visible due to unchanged mentality.
On the occasion, Mayor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City Tikaram Khadka said that ceiling of budget that the three layers of the government implement should be determined.
He said that the provision of selecting the projects from an individual’s choice should be completely stopped.
Vice-Chair of Nepal Law Society Pushpa Bhusal presided over the interaction programme.
During the programme, advocate Mohan Acharya, Joint Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Mahadev Pantha and expert Khimlal Devkota made their presentations on diverse scopes of the federalism, local government and related topics.
