KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that now the reactionary forces are encircling the Maoists.

He stated that a new movement is required. He said this during an interaction program on the People’s War movement in Kathmandu, where he is also the chair of the CPN Maoist Centre.

He stated that in order to recognize the contribution of People’s War martyrs, the Shahid Memorial Park in Jagdol has been built, a public holiday has been declared on People’s War, and the government has decided to publish the names of People’s War martyrs in the gazette.

“The descendants of the people who made great sacrifices to build history are still alive,” he said, “The strategy of the reactionaries is to plot against the Maoists, to spread confusion, to encircle them and to destroy them, and the Maoist strategy is to tear the confusion, break the circle and strengthen them.”

He stated that he has now reached the position of leading the country after many ups and downs, twists and turns, and hardships.

He claimed that because the new sovereign constitution based on the Maoist movement has empowered citizens, many people are attempting to demolish the Maoists.

He urged Mohan Vaidya and Netra Bikram to emphasize Maoist unity. Chand Biplav, Dharmendra Bastola, and Baburam Bhattarai will band together.

‘The Maoist movement came as a very big movement,’ he said, ‘with time, we were divided into different factions. But now we must re-create ourselves as an ocean. We are fighting on multiple fronts. We will be stronger when we fight together.’
