Sudurpaschim CM Shah taking vote of confidence, center’s partner in Maoist opposition
After Rajendra Singh Rawal of UML was not given a vote of confidence by Nagarik Unmukti Party, Shah of Congress was appointed as the Chief Minister on Feb 9 as the largest party.

KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim State Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has prepared to take the vote of confidence today.
For that purpose, a State Assembly meeting has been called to be held today at 1 pm.
After Rajendra Singh Rawal of UML was not given a vote of confidence by Nagarik Unmukti Party, Shah of Congress was appointed as the Chief Minister on Feb 9 as the largest party.
Chief Minister Shah is in trouble after the CPN-Maoist Center decided not to vote for the status quo. The parliamentary party meeting on Saturday decided that the Congress could not give the Chief Minister a vote of confidence as the Congress had not created an environment for dialogue and there had been no discussion on the issue of turn-by-turn confidence in the Chief Minister.
The Nagarik Unmukti Party has also stated that no vote of confidence will be given without the written signature of the party agreement.
Nagarik Unmukti Party Chair Ranjita Shrestha wrote on social media on Saturday, ‘ ‘A vote of confidence cannot be given without the written signature of the party agreement.’
Three parties have 34 State Assembly members in the State Assembly. In order for the Chief Minister to get a vote of confidence in the state, the support of 27 State Assembly members will be required.
