Demonstration on streets of Kathmandu against naming ‘Koshi’

KATHMANDU: Protests against the naming of Koshi State were also held on the streets of Kathmandu.

Kirat Rai Yayokkha staged a protest in Maitighar Mandla on Friday, demanding that the name Koshi be changed.

Protests against the naming of Koshi State are taking place on the streets in the State’s majority of districts.

There is a demand that the name of the Yayokkha state be changed to Kirat State in order to address the identity of the civilization, history, language, and culture of the human geography there.

They took part in the demonstration with placards such as ‘March 1 Black Day, Koshi State Murdabad, Kirat State Zindabad’ & so on.
