KATHMANDU: Nepal won by 3 wickets against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the game held at Dubai International Cricket Ground in UAE under ICC Cricket League-2.

Nepal completed the target of 180 runs given by PNG in 48 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.

After winning the toss, PNG chose to bat first and left Nepal with a target of 180 runs to win and were all out in 49.2 overs.

In reply, Nepal’s opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed in the first ball. Another opener Aasif Sheikh stayed on the field till the end. He scored 86 runs off 130 balls with the help of one six and two fours.

Similarly, Kushal Malla scored 22 runs in 26 balls, including two fours. Sandeep Lamichhane made 35 runs off 50 deliveries. Other Nepalese players were unable to make double runs.

For PNG, Asad Bhala took three wickets. Semo Kamea and Sese Bau each took two wickets.

Similarly, Tony Ura scored the most runs with 39. Tony hit two fours and a six in 51 balls. Kiplin Doriga, another opener who batted for 43 balls, scored 26 runs with three fours. Assad Vala and Sese Bau both scored 11/11 runs. Sese, who played 24 balls, and captain Asad, who played 19 balls, each hit one boundary.

Hiri Hiri hit two fours and a six to score 31 runs. He played 63 balls in total. Gaudy Tika was bowled out after scoring 15 runs. Gowdy hit a four out of 43 attempts.

Chad Soper and Riley Hekure each scored nine runs. Riley, who played 18 balls, and Chad, who played 11 balls, both hit boundaries. Norman Bhanual, who batted 16 balls, scored 14 runs with the help of a six, and the other players were unable to score double runs after leaving the field.

Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee each took two wickets for Nepal. Sompal spent 39 runs in 10 overs, while Dipendra kept a maiden and spent 30 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, Aarif Shaikh and Kushal Malla took 11 wickets.
