BIRATNAGAR: The coalition parliamentarians’ meeting in Koshi State to elect the Nepali Congress candidate for president has concluded.

The Nepali Congress-led eight-party alliance convened a meeting of Koshi State legislators.

The parliamentarians of the eight-party alliance were given instructions on how to win the presidency from Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel.

The orientation program was attended by CPN Maoist Center Vice Chair Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Nepali Congress General Minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma, CPN Unified Socialist Politburo Member Mahesh Regmi, and other leaders.

The presidential election will take place on March 9.

Paudel is a presidential candidate from one of eight parties. UML has been nominated through Subas Chandra Nemwang.

The presidential election will be voted on by members of the House of Representatives, National Assembly, and State Assembly.
