PM’s announces that Singha Durbar Medical Center to be promoted as a scheme of national pride
He said that he will take a policy decision to promote Ayurveda pharmaceutical companies oriented towards the production of quality Ayurveda medicines as well as arranging the extraction of essential herbs for the production of Ayurveda medicines.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government will take a policy decision to organize the export and import of herbs.
Addressing the International Ayurveda Conference organized by Maharishi Vedic Foundation and Nepal Ayurveda Physicians Association in Kathmandu on Friday, H
Prime Minister Prachanda stated that the government will promote Singha Durbar Medical Center, which has a 300-year history, as a plan of national pride.
He stated that by fully operationalizing the National Ayurveda Research Center, necessary policy decisions will be made to rapidly advance the study and research of local herbs in Nepal. He stated that each province will implement a policy of establishing Ayurvedic medicine production centers, herb collection and processing centers.
He stated that hospitals and treatment centers for Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Yoga, and meditation will be established to promote health tourism. He stated that the Indian government will provide the necessary cooperation to continue Ayurvedic research in Nepal as a top priority.
Similarly, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava stated that India will work with Nepal to conduct Ayurvedic research. He stated that the Narendra Modi government of India has prioritized this sector by establishing the Ministry of Ayurveda to promote Ayurveda.
The first conference will be held in Kathmandu for two days, with the slogan ‘holistic health care for all’. The conference is attended by Ayurveda experts from Nepal and India, as well as international Ayurveda experts, manufacturers, and businessmen from Europe and America.
