KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has prepared a model ballot paper for the presidential election to be held on March 9.
Red and green ballot papers will be used for federal and state legislators, respectively.
Members of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament will be given the red ballot, while members of the State Assembly will be given the green ballot.
Members of the House of Representatives, the National Assembly, and the seven State Assemblies vote in the election of the President and Vice President under the Federal Parliament.
However, federal parliamentarians have a vote share of 79 points, while provincial assembly members have a vote share of 48 points.
Ram Chandra Poudel of the Nepali Congress and Subash Chandra Nemwang of the CPN-UML are both running for president.
