KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress-led eight-party alliance is holding an orientation program for federal parliamentarians today.

Members of the National Assembly and the House of Representatives have been invited to today’s program, which will begin at 1 p.m. The program is expected to feature top leaders from eight different political parties.
Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN (Unified Socialist), Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), Janamat Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and Nagarik Unmukti Party will participate in the orientation program at the Royal Banquet in New Baneshwor Tinkune.
The eight-party alliance’s common candidate in the presidential election is Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel. Subas Nemwang has been chosen by the CPN-UML. The presidential election is scheduled for March 9.
There are 882 voters in total, with 332 in the federal parliament and 550 in the State Assembly.
